Arthur:
the subject of more legends than any individual
throughout Western history.
Though often placed through story in the Middle Ages,
Arthur was almost certainly a Celtic king living in
the 5th century. Celts themselves were at
the twilight of an astounding and near mythical two
thousand year history during Arthur’s time and he
remains the most intriguing of all Celts. Credited
with inventing the concept of chivalry that would
dominate the philosophy of knighthood for centuries,
he represented a prime virtue that brought light into
the Dark Ages. The Celts begin the campaign
centered about what historically became their final
stronghold on the continent – Armorica.
The
successful player will reverse the course of history
and place the Celts back into ascendancy, instead of
allowing their continued diminution as a
civilization. The Celt player enjoys the advantages
of the relative protection Armorica’s coastal location
provides, as well as the speed advantage the
light-armed Celts enjoy over most rivals. Another
key advantage of Arthur and his Celts is his Rulership:
it allows the Celt player two more commands per turn
than most rivals. |
